San Luis Obispo, CA It is said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but when it comes to so-called San Luis Obispo "political consultant" Cory Black, it is actually plagiarism. Mr. Black of "Public Policy Solutions" ( www.publicpolicyinc.com ) has copied word-for-word text explaining the campaign services provided by Paramount Communications, the leading political campaign management and consulting firm on the Central Coast and posted that information on his website. Our wording has been live on our website since 2008. ( see the waybackmachine archive here ) Paramount Communications has been in business since 1995, when Mr. Black was still chasing the Good Humor man. He is now apparently trying to pass himself off as a San Luis Obispo political consultant using the website material of another firm—mine. Cory didn't even cover his you-know-what by at least moving a few letters or words around. No, Cory appears to be a master of "cut and paste" politics. Charlatans abound in politics and stealing the professional work of another firm is indicative of the type of questionable service Mr. Black's clients will receive. Potential SLO candidates beware: Your website and brochure may well be stolen from the campaign of another candidate by Cory as he surfs the Web looking for new plagiarism opportunities. That may put your campaign in legal jeopardy. Call your attorney.
